NRSC urged to intensify education on road safety

The Reverend Erasmus Amankwaah Addo, President of Ghana National Association of Driving Schools, has appealed to the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) to intensify their education on road safety.

This, he said, would help minimize the road crashes that usually occur during Christmas festivities.

The Reverend Addo made the appeal in an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on Wednesday.

He said the Road Safety Commission had been doing well over the years but they must intensify their education especially on road signs since most of the drivers were not abreast with some of the road signs.

Reverend Addo urged the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) to collaborate with other stakeholders to join the crusade in educating the drivers.

He called on garage owners to desist from rushing to put vehicles brought to them on the road but rather take their time and repair them before giving them back to their owners.

Reverend Addo called on driving schools and other stake holders also to come together and strategize for the safe use of our roads.

He urged drivers to be circumspect on the road and also make effective use of the various road signs to avoid accidents.
