NPP women's wing donates to Children's Home

Kumasi, April 26, GNA - The Ashanti regional women's wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Thursday donated items worth three million cedis to the inmates of the Kumasi Children's Home. The items included a bag of rice, a bale of secondhand clothes, children's school bags, and loaves of bread, bathroom sandals, toffees and biscuits.

Presenting the items, Mrs Mary Brobbey, Ashanti Regional NPP Women's Organiser, said as mothers, the women were concerned about the welfare of the inmates hence the donation.

She said children were important assets to the nation and there was the need to take good care of them, especially those who were deprived to enable them enjoy normal lives and grow up to contribute to the development of the nation.

Mrs Brobbey called for unity among Ghanaian women and rise up to contribute their quota towards the speedy development of the nation. Mrs Beatrice Osei-Assibey, Child Care Officer of the Home, who received the items, thanked the women for the gesture and said the items would help in the upkeep of the children.

She said the donation would motivate other people to come to the aid of the children and appealed to other benevolent organizations to come and support the Home.
