NGO to resolve Awutu-Botoku water challenges

Gobacare Foundation, a non-governmental organization (NGO), has expressed its readiness to assist the inhabitants of Awutu-Botoku in the Central Region to resolve their water problem.

To facilitate the offer, the management of the organization has appealed to the chiefs and opinion leaders to provide them with an estimated cost of the project as early as possible for the work to begin within the next three months.

Ms Patience Akos-Mensah, a spokesperson for the Foundation, said this at a party it organized for the people of Awutu-Botoku to round off the Christmas festivities.

She said the officials of the Foundation took the decision after they had toured parts of the Awutu Senya District early last year and saw the horrible water challenge that face the people in the community.

Ms Akos-Mensah said a quantity of clothing was also distributed to more than 150 people at a special Christmas party which cost the organization 20,000 Ghana cedis.

She also commended Nana Aba Akyeafoh, Chief of Awutu-Botoku and members of the Botoku Committee for their co-operation and the high sense of commitment.

Nana Aba Akyeafoh expressed appreciation to the leaders of the Gobacare Foundation for the humanitarian gesture they extended to the community.
