Accra, April 19, GNA - The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) on Monday presented relief items worth 35 million cedis to victims of a rainstorm that recently hit Akweteyman in Accra. The April 13 rainstorm ripped off the roofs of 51 houses and left many people homeless.

The items made up of 20 packets of roofing sheets; 20 bags of rice; 60 pieces of blankets, seven bales of used clothing, mats and 50 mattresses were given to the 250 victims.

Presenting the items, Mr Ben Brown, Greater Accra Regional Coordinator of NADMO, advised the people to desist from throwing garbage into drains to stop flooding in the city.

Madam Elizabeth Sackey, Assemblywoman for the Area, who received the items, gave the assurance that the items would be shared fairly.
