Mormons donate medicals to three hospitals at Ho

Ho, Nov. 24, GNA - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Tuesday presented a total of 288 boxes of disposable medical items to three hospitals in Ho.

The items included surgical drapes, culture tubes, absorbent pads surgical masks, hot and cold packs, cleansing wipes, ambu bags and disinfectants.

The Regional hospital had 164 boxes, Ho District hospital 60 boxes and the Ho Poly Clinic 64 boxes.

The Church also handed over 156 refurbished boreholes to the Ho District Assembly.

No monetary values were quoted for the items and refurbishment. Mr Ross Workman and Mr Robert Gay, West Africa President and Ghana Mission President of the Church, respectively, said the Church valued the opportunity to be of service to communities in fulfilment of its charity mission in its operational areas.

They looked forward to the establishment of a fruitful relationship between the Church and the region.

The Agbogbomefia, Togbe Afede XIV, who graced the occasion with a retinue of Chiefs, expressed the appreciation of the Chiefs and people of the area for the gesture from the church.

He expressed the hope that the Church would partner the Chiefs and people of the area in the pursuit of development.

The Agbogbomefia observed that the Church's charity mission should "teach us to give back to the community as a show our gratitude to God". "True success depends on what we give back to the community than what we take from it", he said.

The Ho District Chief Executive gave assurance that the District Assembly would collaborate with the Church in its efforts to help meet the essential needs of the people.

Mr Albert Ofei, Regional Administrator of the Ghana Health Service, who received the items thanked the Church, saying the donations came in at the opportune time.
