Modern Women of Wisdom fetes orphans on Mother's Day

A humanitarian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Accra-Modern Women of Wisdom Organization- celebrated this year's mother's day with orphans some of whom are HIV-positive, at the Human Compassion Orphanage at Pokuase-Afiaman.

The NGO donated valuable items worth thousands of cedis to the orphanage at Pokuase-Afiaman in the Ga West District as part of its charity works.

The items which included school uniforms, mattresses, soap, clothing, toothbrushes, socks, drinks, water, etc. were donated to the orphanage by members of the NGO on Mother's day.

Members of the NGO showered love on the orphans by feeding them, carrying the children in their arms, hugging them, teaching them, praying for them, etc. The bond between mothers and their children was established between members of the organisation and these little ones whose fate is to face the world as orphans.

The donor entourage was led by Chief Executive Officer of the NGO, Miss. Nana Ama Asantewaa Kwarkoh and other Executive members of the Organization.

At a brief ceremony to present the items, the caretaker of the orphanage, Mr Mensah, who received the donations on behalf of the orphanage, was grateful and thanked the organization for its benevolent gesture, saying the donation will go a long way to reduce the financial burden on the orphanage.

Also speaking to the press, the financial controller of the NGO, Miss Efua Oforiwaa Boafo, pleaded with other civil society organisations to come to the aid of the orphans.

The caretaker of the orphanage, Mr. Mensah called for more of such interventions.
