Miracles are not remedy to salvation - God's Kingdom Society

Accra, Oct. 11, GNA 96 Performing miracles is not the remedy for the salvation of the world. Rather, it is preaching of the truth of God, which would change people's ways and come to Him, a Nigerian-based Church, God's Kingdom Society, said on Wednesday.

Speaking in Accra when a seven-member delegation of the Society called at the Ghana News Agency, the Vice President, Mr Samuel Nwaeke said they believed in miracles, but did not place emphasis on them. He claimed this was because most miracles were either stage-managed or achieved through the use of evil powers.

Mr Nwaeke said they were in Ghana to preach 93The truth of the Gospel with a deeper meaning.=94

He said they would organize lectures on the Bible, which would throw more light on some of the fundamental issues about the Bible and Christianity, such as anointing of oil, Holy Ghost fire, the birth of Jesus Christ and performing of miracles.

Welcoming the delegation, Nana Appau Duah, General Manager of Ghana News Agency, said though their interpretation of the Bible was not conventional, he wanted to know if they believed in resurrection.

Mr Nwaeke said they did but not believed in resurrection in the physical sense, because the earth will remain forever.

The Society would hold a press conference on Thursday, October 12 to throw more light on their mission in Ghana. The society founded in 1934 in Lagos, Nigeria, by the late G. M. Urhobo has branches in Liberia, Kenya, Ghana, UK, Canada and the United States.
