Methodist church to construct pavilions for schools without structures

The Koforidua diocese of the Methodist Church-Ghana is to construct pavilions for all methodist schools and societies in the diocese that do not have permanent chapels and school buildings.

The Right Reverend Michael A. Bossman, Bishop of the Koforidua diocese announced this at the 34th Annual Synod of the diocese in Koforidua.

He said it came out during a recent meeting of ministers and leaders of the church that 47 societies in the diocese lacked permanent chapels and school buildings.

Reverend Bossman said as a result, the church had launched a Seed Faith Fund to support the project and that over GH¢50,000 was realized which was used to buy metal pipes that could construct about 14 pavilions.

He said the church would embark upon renovation of some of its schools which would involve painting, patching works and provision of furniture to those that needed them.

Reverend Bossman said the church would also establish libraries in methodist schools and expand the old ones to promote the use of the libraries by pupils and students.

He said the church had already provided 50 mono desks and 50 dual desks to Nana Wiafe Vocational School at Mpraeso, and Maamekrobo International School in the Afram Plains respectively.

It also provided two new desk top computers to the Wesley Junior High School in Koforidua.
