Member of Parliament donates to schools

Mr Bright Demordzi, the Member of Parliament for Bortianor/Ngleshie Amanfrom, has presented 30 laptops to four basic schools in his constituency.

The beneficiary schools are Tsokome Basic School, Oshiyie MA Basic School, Galilea DA One and Galilea DA Two Basic schools.

It was in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC).

Mr Demordzi said ICT was very important to the education development of the modern day child as it enhances employment opportunities.

Receiving the Laptops on behalf of their respective schools, the Head teachers of Galilea DA One and Galilea DA Two Primary schools, Madam Naa Afi Kaki and Madam Matilda Amanor expressed their gratitude and appealed to corporate bodies to follow the example.

The Head teachers appealed to the MP to help to complete the abandoned GETFund supported school building projects to enable the schools to enough classrooms to eliminate the shift system.

Mr Demordzi said he had asked assembly members in the constituency to arrange for a meeting with all the contractors handling the GETFund school projects in the constituency to deliberate on issues affecting their work and work out a way forward.

He said arrangements to facilitate the release of the contractors’ funds from GETFund had also been concluded and expressed the hope that the projects would be completed in due course.
