Lone crusader against indiscipline at Kranka

Mr. Kwasi Badu, a 40-year-old businessman, has embarked on a crusade to check truancy and other acts of indiscipline among school children at Kranka in Nkoranza North District of Brong-Ahafo.

Between 9.00 hours and 10.00 hours Mr. Badu is often seen parading through the streets of the town with a cane in hand to punish any school-going child found loitering about during school periods.

Mr. Badu told the GNA that he realized some school children still stayed out of school after their parents and guardians had seen them off and remained in the streets to indulge in unproductive habits.

He said some hide in rooms to play computer games and cautioned such children not to deceive themselves because he was always ready to smoke them out from their hide-outs.

He condemned the unconcerned attitude of some parents towards the upbringing of their children and appealed to them to ensure that their wards are away from the streets where they could engage in social vices.

Meanwhile, Mr. Oscar Osei, Assembly Member of the area, has commended Mr. Badu for his concern in promoting discipline amongst school children in the community.

He cautioned the youth against the use of the computer to play games and to expose themselves to pornographic films saying the community leadership was being compelled to take drastic measures to curb the practice.**
