Let's put nation ahead of individual political ambition

Manso-Nkwanta (Ash) Feb 19, GNA - The Omanhene of Manso-Nkwanta Traditional Area, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah 11, has appealed to all Ghanaians to accept to do what is right for the nation, regardless of political affiliation.

They should put aside political differences and work with unity of purpose to tackle the socio-economic challenges faced by the country. Nana Bi-Kusi was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of Manso-Nkwanta to plan the progress of the area. They were joined by the Amansie West District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Charles Oti-Prempeh.

He reminded the people about the need to uphold the peace and said there could not be any meaningful development in an atmosphere of suspicion, distrust and confusion.

Nana Bi-Kusi pledged to work closely with the district assembly to bring development to the area and appealed to the assembly to involve chiefs in its decision-making process. Nana Bi-Kusi expressed concern about the situation where chiefs are sidelined by the assemblies and said this was unhelpful for effective local governance.

Mr Oti-Prempeh announced plans to put into good shape school buildings and feeder roads in the area and that the assembly had already bought 1,000 bags of cement and 50 bundles of roofing sheets and a grader for this.
