Lawlessness leads to confusion - Rev. Joe Gyamfi

Fijai (W/R), July 5, GNA - The Head Pastor of the Takoradi Liberty Church, Reverend Joe Gyamfi, has underscored the importance of law and order in society, saying they are crucial to Ghana's democratic development.

He said chaos and disturbances would not augur well for the country because where there was no law and order, darkness reigned, which reduced productivity and increased poverty, sickness and diseases.

Preaching a sermon at a thanksgiving service at Fijai in memory of the three High Court judges murdered in 1982, he said, law enforcement agencies should be circumspect and carried out their duties without fear or favour.

Rev. Gyamfi tasked the congregation to encourage and respect lawyers to propel them to provide good services to the public.

The President of the Western Regional branch of the Ghana Bar Association, Mr Ebenezer Kwaitoo, charged lawyers to protect the law and adhere strictly to its tenets.

Mr Kwaitoo charged the congregation to always abide by the laws governing the country in order to prevent any mayhem.

"We have only one Ghana and we must do everything possible to make it safe," he added.
