Large number of people registers with Assinman health scheme

Assin Foso (C/R), Mar 2, GNA- A total of 20,000 people working in the informal sector, have registered as members of the Assinman Mutual Health Insurance Scheme, since May last year.

One hundred and twenty (120) of the members have fully paid the annual premium of 72,000 cedis to enable them benefit from quality health care when the scheme takes off in the area, next June. Mr Samuel Oppong Nkansah, Manager of the scheme, announced this at a seminar to review the programme, at Assin Foso.

The Assin North District Chief Executive, Mr Karikari Apau urged the collectors of the premium to encourage more people to join the scheme.

The Board Chairman of the scheme, Pastor Apenkwa Brown asked the collectors not to let their partisan interests hinder the effective discharge of their duties.
