Kwakyekrom community gets multi-purpose centre

Nsawam, March 10, GNA - Otuoobour Nana Djan Kwasi II, Aburihene and Omanhene of Akuapem Anaafo and Mr Samuel Kwabi, the District Chief Executive on Tuesday cut the tape to inaugurate a multi-purpose Centre constructed at Kwakyekrom near Nsawam at the cost of 147,000 dollars. The Centre, comprising a community bank, a clinic, a conference centre, three nurse's quarters, KVIP facilities, a ware house for food storage a library and ICT centre.

Otoobour Djan Kwasi who also chaired the function, said over 13 communities including Kwakyekrom, Kwame Boafo, Oforikrom, Otopakrom and Aburakrom would benefit from the Centre. Otoobour urged them to live in good hygienic environment and use their communal spirit to always maintain the structure and its surroundings clean to prevent the outbreak of any communicable diseases.

Mr Samuel Otopah Kwaafo, an Assembly member for the area and also the Chairman of the Hunger Project, Ghana a Non-Governmental Organization said the project was also supported by the people through communal labour and was technically supported by the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly.

Mr Samuel Kwabi, the District Chief Executive of Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar who deputized for the Eastern Regional Minister, urged the people to continue with their communal spirit and see to it that the entire environment of the Centre was always clean. He asked the communities who would benefit from the project to bury their political differences and team up for more of such good development projects.
