Kwahu South Assembly to undertake more projects

Mpraeso, Sept. 30, GNA - Mr Joseph Omari, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu South, has said the assembly would continue to undertake development projects to better the lot of the people. He mentioned the projects as classroom blocks, health centres, roads an= d provision of potable drinking water.

Addressing the Second Ordinary meeting of the assembly at Mpraeso on Thursday, Mr Omari mentioned some of the projects as the rehabilitation of Mothers' Hostel at Atibie, a three-unit classroom block, a staff common room, store and office at Nketepa and a slaughter slab at Atibie. The rest are a meat shop at Mpraeso, a three-unit classroom block at Atuobikrom Junior High School, a three-unit classroom block for Koranteng Junior High School with office and a two- classroom block for Nketepa Kindergarten with dining hall. On road construction, Mr Omari said the assembly rehabilitated 70.6 kilometers of feeder roads and this involved reshaping and spot improvement.

These include the reshaping of Praso Number Two=96Fomanso, Adunkwa Junction=96 Adunka, Praso Number Two-Asempaneye and the six- kilometer Osub= eng Junction=96 Oheneakuraa roads. Others are the reshaping of the 4.7 kilometer Atibie-Odweanoma feeder road, 6.8km Sukwa Junction-Ahodwo feeder road, 1.8km Sukwa-Atuobikrom feede= r road and the reshaping of 8.5km Mframa Junction-Kwame Owuo feeder roads. He also mentioned that work was progressing for the patching of some roads to reduce the high rate of accidents in the district and these includ= e Mpraeso-Abetifi, Nkawkaw-Mpraeso-Obo, and the Mpraeso town roads. Mr Omari said other roads to be given a facelift were the six-kilomete= r Osubeng-Kwasidade, six-kilometer Osubeng-Akwaasu, 14.7 kilometer Kwahu Asikam-Kwahu Manfi, two-kilometer Mpraeso-Kweku Djan, one-kilometer Bepong-Adanuma and the one kilometer Mpreaso-Kwasifori roads. Touching on security, the DCE said the district had remained calm and commended the police for the good work done to clamp down on some few miscreants who had wanted to operate in the area. On social intervention, Mr Omari said the assembly had completed the construction of market sheds at Osubeng to facilitate trading in the village.

He commended all the assembly members for working hard since assuming office and urged them to continue to work hard devoid of partisan politics and seek the interest of their electorate.
