Koforidua Nursing and Midwifery Training School enrolls 176 students

The Koforidua Nursing and Midwifery Training College admitted a total of 176 new students this academic year.

Eighty-one of the students were enrolled in the midwifery programme while 95 would read the general nursing programme.

The Principal of the school, Mrs Doreen Ayesu, in a matriculation address, urged the students to make maximum use of the opportunity offered them to train as future nurses to lift the image of nursing.

She advised them against any untoward behaviour and acts of indiscipline, and urged them to consult the school authorities whenever they have challenges.

The Koforidua Nursing and Midwifery Training School was instituted 50 years ago, as a Health Assistants Training School.

It is celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year, to be climaxed with a grand durbar on December 13.
