Kludjeson Institute of Technology launches e-learning portal

Dr Prince Kofi Kludjeson, President of Kludjeson Institute of Technology (KIT) has launched an e-learning portal to create a learning platform for Ghanaians.

KIT launched the portal in collaboration with skillsoft, provider of online learning and LRMG, a performance management consulting firm.

The platform has more than 6000 course programmes, which provides learning and teaching in various skills ranging from Journalism, Human Resource, Banking, Finance, Health and Education all certificated.

Dr Kludjeson explained that the e-learning is the use of technology to enable people to learn anytime and anywhere including training, the delivery of just-in-time information and guidance from experts.

He said the platform would offer graduates to learn additional skills to market themselves for the job market.

Dr Kludjeson said due to technology, most individual prefer to learn through electronic means such as the tablet, and internet, and the goal of the portal is to ensure that there is internet and Wi-Fi in every home to encourage Ghanaians to develop interest in e-learning.

He said the e-learning is student centred because materials and activities are designed with the needs and interests of the learner in mind and students assume control of their learning experience and use it to suit their own specific needs.

Dr Kludjeson said since the country is becoming a knowledge base economy, most civil servants would be trained to advance the knowledge base of Ghanaians in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

He said knowledge base economy is key to the development of every country, hence the need to equip students with the needed skills to make them competitive in the market.

He said the platform plans to create about 10,000 entrepreneurial jobs.

Mr Gabriel Mbaya, Technical Consultant for LRMG said his outfit is excited to partner with KIT to develop Africa in technology adding that Ghana is ready to take the steps of e learning in terms of education and leadership.

He said online learning is the best empowerment for the future and encourage all to take advantage to enroll for the programme at KIT to be abreast of electronic learning.

Mr Ezekiel Owusu Afriyie, Chief Executive Officer of Noble Dream Microfinance said as part of his organisation’s support to education, they are given individuals 36 month payment plan to pay in installment to register for the programme.

He said the initiative is to empower Ghanaians to be educated in ICT and contribute its quota to national development.
