KAAF University to build faculty block

The KAAF University College has signed a contract agreement with Yanjian Group Ghana Limited, for the construction of a four-storey faculty block at Fete-Kakraba, on the Accra-Winneba road.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Dennis Mike Obeng, Rector of the University, told Ghana News Agency that as part of the school’s efforts in putting up structures to facilitate teaching and learning, there would be a central classroom block, offices, banking areas, hostel facilities, and bungalows for lecturers and a primary school to serve people working in the environs of the academic facility.

Dr Obeng said in terms of tertiary education the University stands for excellence in the areas of engineering, technology and business.

The school has plans of introducing programmes like law, nursing and computer science.

“We are in the process of getting about eight new programmes,” he added.

Mr Richard Lu, who addressed the media on behalf of the Yanjian Group Ghana Limited, said the company had been in the country for the past four years and it started with the construction of the new Ministry of Foreign Affairs office building and other international projects in the country.

Speaking to the Consultant of the project, Mr Osei Bonsu, Chief Consultant at Arch Team 4 Consultancy, he said the project which covers 34 acres, would provide students all the necessary facilities to help them learn.

He said the first phase of the project would cost GH? 2.5 million.
