Juaben schools receive literature books

Ms Ama Pomaah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Juaben, has donated one thousand pieces of “Cock Crow,” to form two pupils of Junior High Schools within the constituency, to aid in their preparations towards the 2016 Basic Education Certificate of Examinations (BECE).

“Cock Crow” is the literature book which will be used by the form two pupils who are going to write the first Literature examination, which has been introduced by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), beginning in 2016.

Mr Anthony Asamoah, Second Vice Chairman of the NPP in the constituency, who presented the books on behalf of the MP, said the donation was in response to an appeal made by the education authorities in the Ejisu-Juaben district.

He said the MP was much concerned about the development and improvement in education, that was why she had initiated a number of projects to improve academic performance in the constituency.

He mentioned the construction of a six-class room model school for the Juaben Estate, donation of dual desks to junior and primary schools, as well as scholarships to some pupils, as some of the initiatives by the MP to promote education in the constituency.

Mr Asamoah appealed to the authorities to work to ensure that the beneficiaries received the books on time, to enable them prepare for the examination.

Mr William Manu, Deputy Director in-charge of Inspectorate at the Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Education Directorate, who received the books, thanked the MP for the timely donation.

He said the books would help the form two pupils who were going to write the maiden Literature examination, to prepare well for the exams.

Mr Manu gave the assurance that the books would be presented to the pupils on time, to enable them study and prepare well for the examination.
