Joy Industries brings joy to a 3-yr-old boy

Indigenous herbal producing giant and producer of Joy Dadi Bitters (JD) has donated an amount of $2000 equivalent of GHS6000.00 to the family of Master Bismark Danso to enable him undergo surgery at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi and bring joy to his face and family once again.

Speaking at the short ceremony in Akwadum near Koforidua, where the company is located, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Manfred Takyi said the management and staff of the company made the donation as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

“It is a basic principle of Joy Industries Limited to be socially responsible and that the strength of the company is in the contribution it makes to the communities it operates in through its humanitarian initiatives. We hoped that this contribution would go a long way to save little Bismark Danso’s life.”

According to Dr. Manfred Takyi, his attention was drawn by the President of Devine Mother and Child foundation, Edmund Duodu of the agony of Master Bismark Danso three years after drinking caustic soda also known as sodium hydroxide use by his grandmother to prepare soap and his condition keeps worsening.

A gastronomy feeding tube has been inserted through the skin and the stomach wall into his stomach where he has been fed for the past three years. This the medical doctors who were treating him at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) said little Danso suffered injury to his oral cavity, pharynx and the upper airways which if not treated may cause serious complications such as perforation and death.

The medical doctors who were treating him needed an amount of GHS6, 000.00 to undergo Oesophageal dilatation surgery to survive.

Later in an interview, Dr. Manfred Takyi said Joy Industries Limited as a responsible corporate citizen strives to create a sustainable and socially responsible business model that serves the interest of the communities they operate in.

The company’s commitments are focused on strategic programs and partnerships that support its corporate values aimed at promoting social change. This includes donations to various traditional councils in support of developmental projects, the Security Services and Divine mother and Child foundation to support rural communities with health care and the aged.

According to him, Joy Industries strives to create a sustainable and socially responsible business model that serves the interest of the communities within which it operates.

Receiving the donation, President of Devine Mother and Child foundation, Edmund Duodu and his grandmother, Comfort Mensah, thanked the management of the company for the kind gesture and promised to put the money received, for the purpose for which it was requested. Said they believe the surgery of little Danso will commence in the shortest possible time to enable him live normal life after paying the money to the doctors.
