Initiate plans to enhance development- Assembly members told

Nkoranza (B/A), June 10, GNA - Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, Nkoranza South District Chief Executive, has urged heads of decentralized departments to be innovative and initiate better plans and programmes to enhance development in their areas. Addressing his first meeting with staff of the district assembly at Nkoranza, the DCE called on them to respect the views of their subordinates to win their support and to promote cordial working relationship to enable the departments to perform to expectation. He advised workers to be punctual and serious at the work place for increased productivity and cautioned them against playing partisan politics with their activities, saying their roles and responsibilities had nothing to do with partisan politics.

Mr. Agyekum warned against gossiping and backbiting and advised the workers "to keep matters of the assembly within its walls and not to carry them to the police".

He announced plans to initiate an awards scheme for the assembly, where hard working staff would be presented with awards to serve as motivation for other workers. A welfare club is also to be established for the Nkoranza District Assembly workers, to attend to their welfare needs in case of an eventuality. Mr. Kwame Gyedu Nuako, District Coordinating Director, emphasised the need for the workers to be cooperative and work relentlessly towards the development of the district. Mr. Nuako also pleaded with the workers to serve the assembly and promote the development of the communities. The District Planning Officer, Mr. Ebenezer Amoah, called for a separate transformer for the assembly to address the power fluctuation problems the assembly faced. 10 June 09
