Hoteliers to help assemblies to involve them in fixing rates

Agona Swedru, Dec. 24, GNA- The Central Regional branch of Hotels Association has expressed concern about the inability of district and municipal assemblies to involve the members in fixing fees and rates to members of the hotel industry.

The members appealed to the Value Added Tax (VAT) service to consider giving their invoices to them free or cut down their unit price per invoice.

Nana Ato Arhinful, chairman of the association, said this at a get together for members of the association.

The chairman said high electricity bills, water bills, income tax, purchase of VAT invoices, copyright fess, GTB license fees, district and municipal assemblies fees affect the industry. Nana Arhinful said it is important for all hotel owners to join the association so that they can offer standardized services to promote tourism.

The chairman told members to assist in the fight against HIV/AIDS by pasting posters around the hotel premises to ensure effective control of the HIV/AIDS.

He appealed to the government to consider group loans for the members of the association to provide quality services to meet the ECOWAS standards.
