Ho District Assembly asked to produce credible development blueprint

Ho, Jan. 12, GNA- Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbome Fia of the Asogli State on Monday suggested to the Ho District Assembly to produce a credible and referable development blue-print for the district that would span different generations of politicians.

Togbe Afede said this when he paid a courtesy call on the Ho District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Mawutor Goh, Staff and members of the District Assembly, to thank them for their support, during the burial of his predecessor and his (Afede) installation.

He said development agenda of all areas should stand inviolable, and that it should be possible for politicians of different shades to implement programmes prepared by their predecessors.

"Politicians would come and go but Volta Region would remain forever' Togbe Afede said.

He condemned tribalism, saying that it is the minority that suffers when tribalism is pronounced in a country, and advised District Assembly members not to allow controversy over the location of development projects to delay their implementation.

Mr Goh said the concerns of the Assembly include giving employable skills to the teaming youth in the area and expanding the District Education Fund to enable it to cater for more people.

He listed others as sensitising the public to pay sanitation levies and observing byelaws, ensuring orderly physical development and giving a face lift to Ho as a municipality.

Mr Goh suggested that the Traditional Council merges its planned Education Fund with that of the District Assembly to make it more sustainable.

He also asked the Traditional Council to help the Assembly resolve issues of compensation for lands acquired or earmarked for development projects.
