Hehekpoe Community in the Adaklu Wanya District of the Volta Region is to have a unique model kindergarten block made up of two classrooms, a sleeping room, office, store and a playing ground.

The project is being undertaken by the Hehekpoe Adanu Model Pilot Project Initiative (HAPPI) a non-profit organization.

Breaking the grounds for work to begin, Mr. Samuel Dorfe, Deputy Director of the Ghana Education office, Adaklu Wanya District, noted that children in their formative years must be given a solid foundation for them to build on when they grow.

He stated that the provision of a serene atmosphere in the form of classroom was one sure way to build the future of such young ones.

He said the government alone could not shoulder the needs of schools in the country and needed public private partnership.

He assured that all the necessary support would be given to HAPPI to make sure that the project was completed on time.

Torgbe Newton Ayim, Chief of Hehekpoe, who chaired the function, thanked HAPPI for the project.

He assured them of support from the community in order to complete the project on time.
