Health workers appeal for means of transport

Mr. Isaac Kwadwo Boakye, Environmental Health Division Officer in-charge of the Busunya Zone in the Nkoranza district, has appealed to the government to provide officers of the division with motor bikes to make them mobile to promote sanitation in the area.

Mr. Boakye told Ghana News Agency at Busunya on Thursday that lack of means of transport had prevented the officers from making regular visits to the communities.

He urged Assembly Members and unit committees to ensure that the people keep their surroundings clean to enhance good sanitation to prevent the outbreak of communicable diseases.

The Health officer suggested the formation of local sanitation task forces who would ensure that the people lived in clean a environment.

Mr. Boakye urged the Nkoranza District Assembly to provide dustbins and refuse containers at vantage places in the Nkoranza and at the zonal centres of the district to prevent the people from littering the street
