HFC Bank donates to nine institutions

HFC Bank on Thursday donated an over GH?136,000 to nine institutions for their invaluable contribution to society.

The institutions included the Accident Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Ghana Hearts Foundation, Dzorwulu Special School, Catholic Action for Street Children and Help Age Ghana.

The rest were the SOS Ghana, Students Financial Aid Office of the University of Ghana, National Partnership for Children’s Trust and the Akuapem Community Foundation.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark the second phase of the annual corporate donation exercise in the year, Mr Osei Asafo-Adjei, Executive Director-Corporate Banking, HFC Bank, said the donation, which was done every year on behalf of shareholders, formed part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility of responding to the needs of institutions contributing extensively to the development of the country.

He said HFC Bank recognised the role of society in individuals' lives as they grew up.

“We appreciate the role of society in the sustainability of our businesses,” he said.

Mr Asafo-Adjei said the day’s event was important on the bank's calendar, especially when it coincided with its Social Responsibility Day, also known as the Corporate Citizenship Day.

He expressed concern about the plight of the less privileged in society hence the initiative of giving back to society.

Recipients thanked the bank for its continuous support for impacting lives positively and appealed to other benevolent institutions to emulate the kind gesture of HFC Bank to help in the country’s development.
