Gomoa district CHRAJ office settled 48 cases last year

Apam (C/R), March 2, GNA - The Gomoa District office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) handled a total of 52 cases between January and December last year as against a total number of 80 cases it handled in 2005.

Mr John Amoah, the Gomoa District Director of CHRAJ, told the GNA that 33 child maintenance cases were handled last year. Mr Amoah said there were four inheritance cases, three maintenance of spouse, two of child abuse, two of discrimination, one labour issue case, a tenancy dispute, a denial of education case and one each of environmental hazard and right of health.

He said the commission undertook public education campaign tour of 11 communities to create awareness among the people on the work of the commission. 02 March 07
