Ghanaians urged to rekindle communal spirit

Saltpond (C/R), Jan. 28, GNA - The District Chief Executive for Mfantseman, Mr. Robert Quainoo-Arthur has urged Ghanaians to rekindle the communal spirit to help accelerate the pace of development. Speaking to Ghana News Agency at Saltpond after inspecting projects being executed by World Vision, Ghana in the district, the DCE said, "The greatest appreciation we could show to our foreign partners was to resolve to die a little for our people."

The projects included, a block of six classrooms and KVIP toilet at Ekumfi Asokwa and a three-unit classroom block with office, store and library at Ekumfi Edumafa.

Four teachers' bungalows at Narkwa and Arkra and a day care centre at Ekumpoano were at various stages of completion.

Mrs. Evelyn Nsiah, Mfantseman Area Development Project Manager of World Vision, Ghana accompanied Mr. Quainoo-Arthur. The DCE was highly impressed with the bungalows and said the government needed more of such edifices to entice teachers to stay in the rural areas.

He said the inspection signified his commitment to the projects and assured NGOs operating in the district of his support at all times. Mrs. Nsiah thanked the DCE and assured him that the organisation would initiate more projects for the area.

She appealed to the beneficiary communities to help them to complete the projects on time.
