Ghana Telecom embarks on mass promotional sales

Effiakuma (W/R) April 11, GNA- Mr Joseph K. Kyei, Western Regional customer Care Manager of Ghana Telecom (GT) has said that the promotional sales embarked upon by his outfit was aimed at making fixed line services available to many. He said though there were several mobile communication networks in the country, the value of the landline services could not be underestimated. Mr Kyei said this during a promotional sale at Effiakuma near Takoradi on Thursday. He said Sekondi-Takoradi, Tarkwa, Axim, Elubo, Asankrangwa, Samreboi and Enchi, were all having similar exercises to attract more customers.

Mr Kyei explained that the exercise dubbed Easter promotion would end in May and it was hoped that 1000 new subscribers would join GT and use its landline services. Mr Charles Cobb, General Manager of Fixed Line Sales of GT, said the exercise was a nationwide programme and GT would educate the public on the proper uses of their telephones, billing system and other related issues. He said GT would soon introduce IPTV, which enables uses of the Internet to get easy access to several television channels in their home and offices.

Mr Cobb said customers could now acquire landlines at GH¢20 instead of GH¢40 as was being sold previously. He said easy fone, broadband for you and Dial-up, were some of the products of GT, currently available.
