Ghana Police Service to establish marine training school

The Ghana Police Service is to establish a marine training school to equip personnel with policing skills for the marine, oil and gas and petroleum industry.

Mr. Alhassan Ahmed Mohammed, Deputy Inspector General of Police, announced this on Thursday, during a visit to the proposed site of the school at Aiyinasi as part of his tour of the Western Region.

Mr. Mohammed said, plans were far advanced to finalize the documentation of the land for the school.

He said the site was a work camp of ABU, a construction company, and structures at the camp would be re-constructed.

The Deputy IGP was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Mr. Asante Apeatu, Director-General of Research and Planning, DCOP, Mr. Ken Yeboah, Director-General of Legal and Prosecution and Mr. Ransford Ninson, Western Regional Police Commander.**
