GGFA inaugurated at Denkyemuoso

Dekyemuoso, Oct.7, GNA - The German-Ghanaian Friendship Association (GGFA), a non-governmental organization (NGO), seeking to help the needy and the poor in society, was inaugurated at Denkyemuoso in Kumasi. It also aims at fostering German-Ghanaian relations and planning for exchange programmes for members in the two countries. Mr. Torten Matzah, vice president of the Deutsch-Ghanaishes Freundschalishres, also an NGO based in Germany, said that Germany branch of the GGFA provided 250,000 Euros for the construction of the Denkyemuoso Vocational Technical Institute. He said the association would also assist in providing library books and computers and construct buildings towards the promotion of education in the area.

Mr. Jeffrey Johnson, president of GGFA in Ghana, said the group would work with its Germany counterpart to build a Kindergarten and provide infrastructure to basic schools to boost education in the area. Mr. Charles Kodua, Principal of the Institute, called on parents to enroll their children in at the Institute to enable them to acquire knowledge and skills needed for national development. The NGO has Professor Reynolds Okai as patron, Mr. Hanna Boakye-Yiadom, Vice President, Kwame Kwakye treasurer, Amankwaa Sarkodie secretary, and Charles Boakye Ababio Outreach Coordinator. 7 Oct 08
