GES gives carpentry tools to school

Nkoranza (B/A), Sept. 25, GNA- The Ghana Education Service (GES) has presented a wheelbarrow and a number of carpentry and masonry tools to Saint Barnabas Anglican Primary School at Nkoranza in Brong Ahafo towards the maintenance of the school's building.

The tools is part of the government's Primary Education Rehabilitation Programme (PERP) under which school blocks and KVIP places of convenience are provided for selected schools.

Mr Jarvis Agyeman-Badu, District Director of Education, who made the presentation, urged the staff and students of the school to take proper care of the items.

Mr Agyeman-Badu urged the executive of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) to regularly visit the school to address any defects on the school building.

The staff and students of the school should plant trees and flower trees to beautify the school compound to check the effects of rainstorms, he said.

Mr Thomas Adu Kyeremeh, head-teacher of the school received the items and expressed gratitude to the government, saying the facility would help enhance sanitation in the school.

Meanwhile, two parents of the school, Mr Patrick Duodu and Mr Worae Sarpong, a carpenter and mason, respectively, have offered to help in the maintenance of the school building free of charge.
