G/R Road Contractors Association end capacity building workshop in Winneba

Members of Greater Accra Road Contractors Association, Ghana, have appealed to the government to pass an Act that would enforce prompt payment to contractors after they had executed jobs.

They said the Act would compel contractors to execute works on time and avoid shoddy work.

The members made the appeal at a-four-day capacity building and training workshop they organised for their members at Winneba on Friday sponsored by BUSAC Fund.

Mr William Apudur Bondzie, Chairman of the Association, said delays in the preparation of certificate by scheduled officers before payment contributed to delays in effecting payments.

Mr Bondzie, appealed to the government to see them as partners in development and growth and come out with such an Act to help sustain their business.

Facilitators at the workshop urged the participants to put the knowledge they had acquired into practice and also establish an enabling environment that would facilitate the growth of their businesses.**
