Four-day course for keep fit instructors ended in Winneba

Winneba, (C/R) Nov. 5, GNA - A-four day capacity building course for 30 Keep Fit Instructors drawn from the ten regions has ended at the C.K. Gyamfi Sports College in Winneba. The course was organized by the National Sports For All Association-Ghana (NASFAAG) under the auspices of the National Sports Council. It was aimed at updating the theoretical and practical knowledge of the participants to enable them define and differentiate terms related to fitness, health and performance of physical activities, exercises and sports.

The course was also aimed at determining the correct type of physical activities to apply to correct the principles of training towards fitness achievement and maintenance of good health. Nana Addo Mankata II, Co-ordinator of the Programme said the course also dealt with issues related to enhancing performance level within Keep Fit Clubs all over the country.

He urged the participants to create awareness among the general public and support the efforts being made by the Council to promote and develop sports in the country. Nana Mankata who is also the Technical Director of NASFAAG said members of the Association would organize a peace walk throughout the country on November 24, 2008 to sensitize the public on the need to have peaceful elections in December.
