Five-member c’tee inaugurated to investigate attempted Kumasi jailbreak

The Ashanti Regional Security Council has inaugurated a five-member committee to investigate the recent attempted jail break at the Kumasi Central Prisons.

The committee has 14 days to investigate the fire outbreak at the facility and attempted prison break.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, inaugurating the committee said the members will also make recommendations to government to improve the state of the prisons in Ghana.

The committee would be chaired by Chief Supt. Peter Baba from the Ghana Police Service. The committee is also made up of Supt. Martin Enku Larbi from the Ghana Prisons Service and Captain N.Y.S Mensah.

The others are Mr. Festus Mensah Beko from the BNI and Mr. K. Osei Poku.
