Five Effutu schools receive exercise books and uniforms

Winneba, Oct 7, GNA - The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Nii Ephraim, has appealed to parents to support efforts the government is makin= g to give quality education to children. He said this when he and some officials from the Effutu Municipal office of the Ghana Education Service distributed 7,726 exercise books and 1,926 school uniforms to pupils from five rural communities on Tuesday. The beneficiary schools are Osubonpayin/Ateitu, Gyahadzie, Gyangynadzie and Nsuekyire Methodist primary and Junior High schools. Pupils in JHS received 13 books each, those in Primary 4-6 had six books each while Primary 1-3 pupils were given three books each with one uniform each.

Mrs Elizabeth Ennimil, an Assistant Director at the Municipal Directorate of the GES, thanked the government for promoting education in the country. He appealed to the teachers to put in their best to raise the standar= d of education in the municipality. Nana Obosu 11, Chief of Attietu, expressed appreciation to the government for provoding the materials to the pupils.
