Fetish priest denies defrauding people

Nana Yaw Sofehu, a fetish priest known as Nana Sohemu, based at Kukurantumi, has denied police reports that he and four spiritualists had defrauded a number of people of huge sums of money under the pretext of helping them to become rich.

He also denied having been arrested by the Eastern Regional Police Command. He said he was invited by the Regional Police to assist them to investigate a fraud case and was granted self-recognized bail.

Speaking at a press conference, Sohemu confessed that as a fetish priest, people consults him to heal their illnesses and for solution to their spiritual problems.

Nana Sohenu said some time ago, three people consulted him for financial assistance and he asked them to provide certain items which they did and he performed the necessary rituals for them.

He said they left for their various destinations without any complaints. He said he was a recognized fetish priest with the required license from the Traditional Medicine Council and the Ghana Psychic and Traditional Healers Association to practice in the country.

Nana Sohenu said he had travelled to various parts of the country and abroad to cure illnesses and solved spiritual problems for people and had not defrauded anyone.
