Female student appeals for help

Winneba (C/R), June 4, GNA - The Student Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Education, Winneba, and the Chaplaincy of the University have presented a cash for GH¢2,000 to support as a female student having kidney problems.

Madam Augustina Amponsah, 54, a level 300 student at the Early Childhood Department of the University was diagnosed of having kidney problem by the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, and has been put on Dialysis treatment for the rest of her life.

Mr Kwesi Essong, SRC Chaplain who made the presentation said the donation was achieved through contributions from all church groups at the University to support the payment of Madam Amponsah's medical bills. Madam Amponsah thanked the donors for their kind gesture and appealed to the general public to come to her aid. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Winneba after the donation, Madam Amponsah who is from Koforidua Jumapa in the Eastern Region said the medical official at the Dialysis department told her that an amount of GH A230,000 would be needed annually for the treatment. Madam Amponsah therefore calls on all philanthropists to contact her on her Mobil Phone Number 0244653669.

Rev. Dr. Father Afful Bronyi, University Chaplain, entreated Madam Amponsah to have faith in the Lord, for with him all things are possible. 4 June 09
