Farmer appeals for re-shaping of roads

Yamediagro (B/A), April 1,GNA - A prominent farmer at Yamediagro, a farming community near Bamiri in Techiman Municipality, has appealed to Techiman Municipal Assembly and the Department of Feeder Roads to gravel a number of feeder roads in the area. Mr. Inusah Yeboah (aka Yamediagro) made the appeal after conducting newsmen on some roads in the area, which had been re-shaped by the Assembly but without gravels.

Without the necessary gravels, the possibility that the roads would be eroded when the rains set in cannot be over-emphasized, he said, adding, it would also be difficult for farmers in the area to cart their farm produce to the marketing centres. He said communities including; Kontokrom, Ehedeakrom, Woraso and Yamediagro, which were un-gravelled, could be cut off from the marketing centres if the Department of Feeder Roads failed to take immediate action.

Mr. Yeboah commended the Municipal Chief Executive and other personalities in the area for their efforts towards the re-shaping of the roads in the farming communities. He stressed the need for the Feeder Roads Engineer to inspect the roads to have first hand information on the state of the roads and help alleviate the plight of the communities.
