Fanteakwa benefits from 1.2 billion cedis EU projects

Begoro, July 1, GNA - The Fanteakwa District Assembly is undertaking seven projects under the government of Ghana and European Union Micro projects programme at a total cost of 1.2 billion cedis. The District Chief Executive Mr Ebenezer Ofoe Caesar announced this at the second ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Begoro on Wednesday.

Mr Caesar said the projects include the construction of the Assembly's warehouse, teachers' quarters at Feyiase and Adjeikrom, nurses quarters at Begoro, a three-unit classroom block at Dome, a culvert at Begoro-Dansor and a community Health Planning Services compound at Akwansrem, noting that the first tranche of 527 million cedis had already been sunk into the projects.

He said the Assembly had made efforts to rehabilitate and improve some feeder roads in the District including the Begoro-Feyiase, Begoro-Obooho road and Begoro township roads. Mr Caesar urged the contractor, Messrs AAD Enterprise, to expedite action towards an early completion of the projects. He said a branch of the Agricultural Development Bank would soon be opened at Begoro and urged assembly members to encourage the electorate to rekindle their self-help spirit on development projects in the communities.
