Eurostar fetes orphans; donates mini bus

Eurostar Global Limousine Limited, a global luxury car rental company, on Sunday abandoned commercial request from clients to fete children of the Teshie orphanage in Accra.

In a real royal treat, the over twenty orphans were conveyed from their Teshie base to the plush Golden Tulip Hotel, to have lunch with management members of Eurostar.

It was certainly a blissful moment for the children whose ages range from one to twenty four.

In a brief remark, the Managing Director of the company, Walid Zoobi, said the gesture was aimed at inspiring the children to achieve greater heights and feel a part of the society.

He said his outfit is determined to offer an unflinching support to any underprivileged child who has proven to be productive.

“It is the resolve of Eurostar to help people irrespective of their social or ethnic background to accomplish their dreams provided they are legitimate and of outmost importance to the society,” Mr Zoobi submitted.

It was against this backdrop that he gladly announced the award of scholarships to three selected children of the orphanage.

“Education our people say is the best investment and we have resolved to select three children and offer them scholarships to learn and become useful to our society in future,” the managing director asserted.

On his part, the executive chairman of the company revealed that the decision to support the orphanage was by divine intervention.

Oscar Doe said it was high time Ghanaians particularly the youth rejected the myth that one could only be successful in life if he or she was born into a wealthy family.

“Becoming successful in life is a matter of choice. People have to believe in themselves that no matter where one is born it is possible to be successful in life,” Mr Doe advised.

He therefore donated a mini bus to the orphanage to aid them in their activities.

Consequently, the orphanage was renamed as Royal Teshie Orphanage.

Founder of the orphanage, Janet Anyeley Paker, thanked the group for the gesture and called on other corporate organisations to emulate it.

“Whatever we have received will be put in right use and it is our hope that Eurostar will continue to come to our aid anytime we call on them,” Madam Anyeley Paker said.

Eurostar mainly does airport pickup and airport drop off for foreign dignitaries, including foreign mission officials and officials of multinational organisations.
