Ejisu gets a new paramount chief

Ejisu (Ash), Oct 4, GNA - The kingmakers of Ejisu on Thursday installed a United Kingdom based sales manager, Mr Kwadwo Frimpong as the new paramount chief of the Ejisu traditional area to replace the late Nana Aboagye Agyei II, who died a few months ago. Under the stool name, Nana Afrane Okese IV, the new chief 54, works with Tesco London, owners of Tesco Supermarkets. The paramount chief took the oath of allegiance, service, humility and respect of his kingmakers and people of Ejisu, at a colourful ceremony at the chief's palace at Ejisu, the municipal capital of the Ejisu-Juaben area. He promised to be an instrument of peace, unity and development for the area. Prior to the oath taking, Nana Bobie Ansah II, Bonwirehene and the acting President of Ejisu Traditional Council, advised the new chief to reunite the people of the paramountcy, and also work hard to promote the cultural heritage of the area. Nana Kwaku Owusu, one of the linguists of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene under whose supervision the installation was done, advised the sub chiefs in the paramountcy to be respectful, committed, dedicated and loyal to the new chief, so as to hasten the development efforts of the area.
