Educationist calls for quality education

Dromankese (B/A), July 8, GNA- Mr. Jarvis R Agyeman-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education has called on parents to offer their children quality education so that they could live as responsible adults.

Addressing teachers and parents at separate forums at Dromankese and Adumasa local primary schools as part of his tour of the district, he said quality education was the best legacy that parents could bequeath to their children.

The District Director advised that boys and girls should be given equal opportunities in education, stressing that the practice by parents to confine their girls to household chores was no longer tenable. Mr. Agyeman-Badu urged pupils and students to take their studies seriously in order to come out successfully to justify the investments made by their parents.

He appealed to parents to co-operate and encourage teachers to train their children well in school.

The District Director cautioned students at Busunya Secondary School to guard against taking hard drugs and getting involved in pre-marital sex.

Mr Seth Badu, Assistant Headmaster of the secondary school, thanked the District Director for the visit and gave the assurance that the staff would do their best to improve academic standard in the school.
