Eastern EXPO Launched at Koforidua

Koforidua, Aug 15, GNA- The Eastern EXPO 2003 has been launched at Koforidua with a call on exhibitors to assemble good marketing research well for the region to derive maximum benefit from the fair.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Dr Francis Osafo Mensah, who made the call also appealed to the EXPO Planning Committees to ''depoliticise the participation'' for the districts to organise their district to help attract many investors to the region and the districts as well. The fair that is under the theme, "Positioning the Trade Investment and Tourism Potentials of the Eastern Region in the Golden Age of Business," is scheduled to take place from October 30 to November 9.

The Minister said the fair, will create avenue for exchange of goods and services, as well as "cross-fertilisation of business skills which would go a long way to boost the region's commercial and industrial activities."

President of Fairs Exhibitions and Events Consult Ltd, Mr Prince Quarcoo, said the fair would showcase the various products and services of the Eastern Region with exhibitors from Egypt, Syria, Iran, Nigeria and Togo.

He said activities planned for the eleven days include district days, launching of new products, fashion shows as well as business meetings.

Mr Quarcoo appealed to exhibitors at the fair to display the best from the region to help attract investors, traders and tourists to the region.

The Adahene, Odefour Boadi Asiedu I, appealed to exhibitors coming from districts to bring all the potentials they have.
