E.P. Church consecrates new Presbyters

Koforidua, May 2, GNA - The Koforidua District of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church has consecrated 10 new Presbyters, six women and four men after their six months training.

The Reverend J K Afele, Chairman of the West Volta Presbytery of the Church, who conducted the service on Sunday, advised Presbyters to co-operate with their Pastors to use the pulpit to train the youth to adopt acceptable life styles.

He called on religious organisations to get involved in the crusade to curb indiscipline among and to train them spiritually. Rev. Afele asked the new Presbyters to understudy experienced ones and to evangelise with humility, dedication, comport themselves and to exercise self-control in their undertakings.

In a sermon, the Associate Pastor of the E.P. Church, Tema, the Reverend (Mrs) Comfort Afele Adusu, urged Christians to be steadfast, pray for deliverance; avoid social vices and to ask for repentance. The Koforidua District Pastor, the Reverend Benjamin Yaw Asase, expressed the hope that the consecration of the new Presbyters would go a long way to improve the spiritual lives of the congregation. Certificates of recognition were presented to some members for their contribution to the development of the Church.
