Durbar to climax Brong Ahafo jubilee celebration

Sunyani (B/A), April 24, GNA- The Brong-Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council in collaboration with the Regional Planning Committee of Ghana @ 50 celebration would hold a grand durbar to climax the regional celebration of the independence anniversary on Saturday April 28.

Dubbed "Our Region, Our People", the durbar would highlight the region's vast natural and human resources as well as its rich and diverse cultural heritage which epitomises the way of life of its citizens.

Addressing a news conference on Thursday, Mr. Baffour-Awuah, Regional Minister, said a brochure exposing the region to the outside world, its eminent citizens and investment potentials would be outdoored at the ceremony.

Nana Kwadwo Kwakye, Deputy Regional Minister, said the event would also highlight the unity of the paramount chiefs in the area, which is uncharacteristic of other regions in the country. He said senior government officials and other high-ranking members of government and Regional Co-ordinating Councils are expected to grace the occasion.
