Dormaa DCE inaugurates abattoir

Dormaa-Ahenkro, Sept 25, GNA - Squadron Leader Benjamin Anane Asamoah (RTD), the Dormaa District Chief Executive, has inaugurated two development projects valued at 300 million cedis at separate ceremonies at Dormaa-Ahenkro and Nsuhia in the district.

The projects were a modern abattoir at Dormaa-Ahenkro valued at 160 million cedis financed from the District Assemblies Common Fund and a 12-seat Vault Chamber Place of Convenience built at the cost of 140 million cedis from the HIPC Relief Fund at Nsuhia, near Dormaa Ahenkro. Squadron Leader Asamoah urged butchers to ensure that meat they sold to the public was not contaminated.

Alhaji Banbullai, the Chief Butcher, thanked the district assembly for the facility and appealed to the DCE for the provision of water and electricity at the place to ensure cleanliness.

At Nsuhia, Nana Baffour Twumasi Asare, the chief, commended the government for the equitable distribution of development projects. He appealed for the rehabilitation of feeder roads linking towns in the area to major market centres in the district to facilitate the transportation of farm produce.
