Dormaa Ahenkro to have new cultural centre

Dormaa-Aduanakrom, the hub of culture and other social activities at Dormaa Ahenkro, is being reconstructed at the cost of GH?814,000.

The dilapidated center which can hardly host social programmes especially when it rains, has been pulled down to make way for the construction of a new ultra-modern structure.

Mr. Vincent Oppong Asamoah, Municipal Chief Executive cut the sod at Dormaa-Ahenkro for work to start on the first phase of the project which will cost GH?280,000 and involve the erection of the structure.

He said when completed, the centre would be engraved with cultural symbols and images of Dormaa citizens who have contributed to the growth of the Dormaa Traditional Area.

The Aduanahene of Dormaa, Barima Yeboah-Kordie, said the Dormaa Traditional Council would promote compliance with norms in the traditional area particularly in areas of discipline, respect for human dignity and moral chastity.**
