DZOSEC gets new girls' dormitory

Dzodze-Penyi, May 20, GNA - An 18-unit girls' dormitory block to accommodate 540 girls was inaugurated at the Dzodze-Penyi Seniour High School on Wednesday. The facility was financed by the GETFund. Mr Joseph Amenowode, the Volta Regional Minister, said government was aware of the need to provide excellent environment fo= r learning in second cycle institutions.

He said steps were being taken to complete the second phase of upgrad= ing 25 SHS in the country and also rehabilitate and upgrade public Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institutions. Mr John F.Q Agbadi, the Headmaster of Dzodze-Penyi SHS described th= e School's academic performance as enviable and expressed the hope that the=

new dormitory block would bring further improvement.

He said the facility lacked a House Mistress's bungalow and toilet for the students and appealed to the GETFund Administrator and the Ketu North=

District Assembly to correct the anomaly. Mr Agbadi said the School's Parent Teacher Association was putting up a two-storey classroom block and appealed to government to support the PT= A to complete the project in time to ease pressure on the School next acade= mic year.
