Communities urged to support development projects

Abekoase (E/R), Dec 24, GNA- The East Akim District Chief Executive, Mr. Emmanuel Victor Asihene, has advised communities that want more development projects to give support through communal labour and building materials.

He said it is not in all cases that the district assembly would get all the resources to provide projects.

''When a community is able to provide some resources it becomes easier for the assembly to come to support their efforts,'' Mr Asihene said in a speech read on his behalf at the inauguration of a 120-million-cedis Abekoase Roman Catholic Primary School block. The block of three classrooms with a staff common room and a head teacher's office replaced the old structure whose roof was ripped off in a rainstorm.

Chief of the town, Barimah Akromah Akyeampong, thanked the government for the rehabilitation of the school building and appealed for the tarring of the five-kilometer feeder road from the Accra-Kumasi trunk road to the town.
